Jungian Sandplay Therapy

The child or adolescent is exposed to a room full of miniatures and a wet and dry tray. The miniatures or the use of the sand itself are arranged creatively within the sand tray to create a world corresponding to their inner state. Unconscious processes, like dream experiences, become visible in a three-dimensional form. This therapeutic method takes place in the safe presence of the therapeutic practitioner.

Jungian Child and Adolescent Analysis

It is a profound therapy that may integrate filial play therapy, play therapy, sandplay therapy, and EMDR for children/adolescents between 0 and 16 years who are not functioning age-appropriately due to complex traumatic events and significant difficulty with relationships, including with carers and siblings. When a child or an adolescent is unstable and shows neurotic behaviours, it may be challenging for carers to manage such behaviours in everyday life.

In child and adolescent analysis, the therapist and child or adolescent work together through the mediums mentioned above, giving space for children and adolescents to take control of their internal world, differentiate their problems from those of their carers, and become more flexible in navigating the past, present, and future. Psychoanalysis recognises the importance of bridging the unconscious and conscious effects on children's and adolescents' way of being.
